California native Daniel L. Sullivan, Jr. was born in San Francisco, California in January 1957.  Raised in Sonoma, CA, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and his Juris Doctor degree from McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific in Sacramento, CA in 1986.  He was admitted to the State Bar of California in December 1986, and is admitted to the Federal District Courts in the Northern, Eastern, Central and Southern District of California.  

    He reopened his solo practice in Napa, California, in 2010, during which time he was also associated with Narayan & Hudson in San Francisco through The Mergis Group, as a contracted attorney for Zurich Insurance Staff Legal from 2010 to 2011.  He was an associate attorney for Rogaski, Preovolos, Weber and Patterson, LLP. from 2007 through 2010.  He previously operated his solo practice in Napa, California, from 1993 through 2007.  He was associated with the law firm of Larson and Burnham in Oakland, California from 1992 to 1993.  Prior to that association, he was a partner with the law firm of Borton, Petrini and Conron in Bakersfield, California, working with that firm from 1986 until 1992.

    Mr. Sullivan has extensive jury trial and litigation experience, and has tried both civil and criminal cases.  He has tried 14 cases to verdict, and has arbitrated and mediated numerous matters.

    As a Civil Litigation attorney, he has tried medical malpractice, wrongful death,  breach of contract, real estate, personal injury and product liability matters.  In addition to having handled hundreds of automobile casualty cases, Mr. Sullivan also has extensive experience representing clients in primary case areas of Construction Defects and Construction Site Injuries, Contracts, Environmental Law, Medical Malpractice, Real Estate Broker and Agents Negligence, Personal Injury, Real Estate Fraud, Product Liability, Design Professional Errors and Omissions, Wrongful Death, Pesticide Contamination, Nuisance and Insurance Coverage.

    As a Criminal Litigation attorney, Mr. Sullivan has tried both Misdemeanor and Felony cases in areas of DUI, Spousal Abuse, Child Molestation and Assault.  He has successfully represented clients in cases involving controlled substances, including suppression of evidence taken as a result of illegal searches and seizures.  His criminal practice is presently reserved for DUI and Constitutional cases, as well as selected felony and misdemeanor matters.

    Mr. Sullivan has considerable Court of Appeals experience, and has briefed a number of cases, primarily in the 5th District Court of Appeals, primarily as respondent.  Issues on appeal have included Juror Misconduct, Assumption of Risk, and Labor Code Requirements for Express Indemnity Agreements.

    He was a law clerk to Department of the Interior Administrative Law Judge E.  Kendall Clark in 1984 and 1985, where he prepared administrative rulings and opinions on diverse subjects such as Mining Law, Interstate Transportation of Restricted Materials, and Alaskan Native Land Claims.  He was a member of Moot Court Honors Board at McGeorge School of Law, and was on the Dean's Honor Roll.
